Here is where i will be putting lore for my main oc world, with Inkash, Cimex, Tii, and Eden. this is a huge wip because i have a lot of lore to figure out how to word, as well as a lot of thing either aren't finalized or i haven't finished making yet. feel free to make suggestions, comments, or corrections!!backstorythe first thing you will want to know about is imps as a species because they play an important role in this world.
TW: DESCRIPTIONS OF MUTILATION
Imps are a very proud, very advanced, isolationist group that does not tolerate hybrids. they are a rather aggressive species, who lives in a monarchy. their king and queen prioritize physical power over anything else. the weak are slain, and the strong are constantly pushed to their limits. the vast majority of imps preform incredibly dangerous body modifications to show their strength and durability, doing things like exposing and breaking bones just to reshape them into spikes or spines, or cutting their eyelids off so that they cant flinch in the face of another, or they will stab hooks into themselves just to pull them out in front of another without flinching, or get implants in the shapes of their family crest. imps are grey, furry, digitigrade creatures, that have a wide variety otherwise. they can be anywhere from 1 - 10 feet tall, but the vast majority of imps are around 4 - 6 feet. smaller imps act as spies or cleaners. bigger imps act as guards or living taxis. average sized imps would take care of any tasks that remain. imp biology is very interesting in other regards as well, such as their blood is a mixture of permanganate and iodine, with an incredibly high internal temperature. the combination makes parts of their blood sublime as it cools off into an incredibly noxious gas, and the other part combust readily with contact on organics. imps also have a magic simply called imp fire that they can control and harness, it being a magic flame cant be put out by any traditional means. its a powerful flame that can burn through most things well, and can burn even things that are wet. its not all powerful though, and can be dispelled by any other magic user.the next thing that's to note is the apocalypse, which is why this advanced world is barren
TW: MENTIONS OF MASS DEATH
the majority of the world is empty of intelligent life due to a virus that wiped out any major populations, and stragglers ended up destroying settlements by being carriers as well. the virus is extinct by now, because of its very short life. the virus killed swiftly and traveled even faster, affecting most if not all of the worlds populations, with exception of groups such as the imps- being immune due to their incredibly high body temprature- and some creatures who were immune for whatever reasons. the populations that sprung up after the event mostly consisted of those who were immune, or the incredibly good isolationists, making the new populations small but strong.the third thing to note, is the magics in the world
it is very common for creatures to have different magics, for example the imp flame. all creatures have magics of some amount, because the planet is alive with it. all plants, animals, and intelligent creatures have some extent of magic presence, just not all of them have enough to use. the creature that can use them likely have a biological related concept that their magic manifests into.
the lingering magics in the world can create things called constructs, where an inanimate object can come to life given its absorbed enough emotion. most often constructs are things like a well loved plush or a statue protecting the grave of a loved one. constructs are supposed to be given a purpose when they are made known, so that they can spend their life happily doing something. it could be something simple, such as provide comfort to the owner child, or something complex, such as a construct made to preform a complicated task. constructs are often used as service creatures.
some people can create constructs easier than others due to their own magics, many of whom grow to become a construct creator, a job where they take commissions and create constructs for people. people commission constructs made of many different things, depending on their needs- stone, to be sturdy and strong, often protectors or guards- glass, often just a stylistic choice that many creators use to make sure their constructs are being treated well- wood, to be light and fast, often making good workers- etc

inkash's (he/him) backstory:
inkash is the main character in this world, he is tied to everything in the lore
TW: MENTIONS OF MURDER, MUTILATED BODY DESCRIPTIONS
Inkash was born to his imp mother, and his half faun half imp father. neither of his parents wanted him because he was "impure" Inkash's mother didn't even mean to have him, as she and his father was just having some fun before he and his fathers execution. Inkash's mother not wanting the baby but not wanting him to be murdered, was given to Inkash's faun grandmother. She raised him in her apple orchard, teaching him how to bake and make other apple based foods and products, as well as how to manage the orchard and keep it healthy. when the apocalypse hit, inkash and his grandma were completely set. they had an apple orchard and plenty of traded items to last them years, and with each other as company, they had no issue isolating. the two went untouched as the world died around them. the two of them were completely setone day when inkash had went out to check the perimeter and forage some supplies they had gotten low on and gather some water, he had taken extra long because he was watching a group of deer grazing in the area that he normally gathered in. by the time he was able to gather and head back without disturbing the deer, it was already much too late. the imps had found out about his existence via his mother, and they had already taken over their cave and murdered his grandmother for harboring him and having a hybrid child. inkash immediately begin planning, and easily located the imp town, hiding away and locating any of the imps involved in her murder. it was easy, as the group was covered in red blood and was boasting about the recent kill. inkash then slowly picked them off over the course of multiple days, finishing off the last one with a warning to the imps that he would kill more if they ever set foot in his orchard. when he came back to the cave, he was immensely upset. his grandmother was dead, she was his guardian, parental figure, and best friend. he didn't have anyone now. he was also deeply upset that he had taken the life of multiple others. he never had a connection to the imps, knowing the risks, but he was still upset because he never wanted to take the lives of people but it had to be done.after cleaning up the mess that was made, inkash took a cutting of his small black diamond apple tree, and his grandmothers lifeless body, and took them both far into the orchard. inkash buried her in a clear spot, and grafted the cutting, along with multiple other cuttings he gathered along the way, onto one sapling- creating an apple tree that would grow to bear many types of apple. he then spent the next years carving out a gargoyle, made to look like an earwig, to protect the tree that lay above where his grandmother was buried, and named it edenafter eden was created, inkash once again took up the habit of walking the perimeter of the orchard every day, to check on the surrounding and making sure his grandmas trees weren't being cut down. he discovered that many parts of the orchard were frequents of younger people getting food. he had met many people, but he never left the woods, making him somewhat of a story to some of the nearby settlements. eventually more and more people came to try and catch him on his walk through, to see the creature maintaining the apple grove that so many of them frequented. inkash became somebody everyone knew of, but nobody knew anything about him. eventually, a scarab beetle made of a light blue glass approached him and made conversation, curious of this tall being that nobody could recognize. the scarab beetle became a frequent visitor, and friend, of inkash- even offering to trade with him, after learning he could bake and cook well.later on one day while on patrol, he saw a green lump in an area of forest next to the orchard border. normally he doesn't stray from the grove, but he had never seen anything like it before. when he went to investigate he came across the body of an incredibly large, incredibly damaged, creature he had never seen before. the creature was covered in lacerations and its exoskeleton was dented heavily in a lot of places. inkash decided to do something he never had before, and went into town seeking out his beetle friend, tii. tii had the the powers of telekinesis and would be able to help inkash take the green creature to his cave, where he had a large stock of medical supplies. after him and tii bring the creature to his cave, tii leaves and inkash sets off wrapping and treating the creatures wounds. after a couple days, the creature comes to while he is reading.(wip)

cimex's (bug/they/it) backstory:

after the apocalypse, the imps saw an opportunity. before, they were a weak small clan compared to the giant communities, but now, they were one of the biggest. knowing this, and that they had a good chance to grow bigger now, they started working on weapons. one of the fields they were working on, was creating a perfect bioweapon. they figured a virus wouldn't be the way to go as the one that had already came through left too many alive for their liking, so they started the works on creating a monster that could kill anything they need it to. they tried and tried again, with every hybrid they could think to try, and they rarely got anywhere past the developmental stage until they died. cimex was one of the first to make it to full grown, but it wasn't perfect. bug had a mind, and they weren't supposed to have one. the imps solution, was to not let that one have one anyways. it was beaten, starved, tortured, and isolated when bug messed up. eventually the imps got fed up with that one, and decided to scrap them in favour of trying to create a new hybrid that is truly perfect. their method of doing so, was beating it into an inch of bugs life, and dumping it in the woods to bleed out.when cimex woke up again, this one was in a cave that smelled of apples and spice, with the slight stench of something sharp that stained the living space. they were laying on a fur carpet covered in bandages that leaked orange, with a smaller creature covered in dense grey fur with brown horns, hooves, and tail spikes, sat at a table made of wood was reading a book with his back turned. cimex was scared and hurt, and immediately tried attacking inkash. inkash was surprised, but did his best not to struggle or fight back, and tried to tell them that he meant no harm.(wip)

eden's (it/its) backstory:
eden is a solitary earwig gargoyle that protects the grave of inkash's grandmother
after inkash's grandmother passed away, he set off to create a magnificent apple tree using what she had taught him in order to honour her. he had spent a long time to carve a gargoyle to protect the tree, not knowing that the magics in the world could bring sculptures, effigies, or even poppets to life if they are given enough emotion. by the time eden was done being carved, the gargoyle had already absorbed much of inkash's sullenness and detached indifference, that while inkash was looking at it, it had moved to look back at him.inkash hadn't been aware that the gargoyle could come to life if he wasn't careful, and was obviously startled. he was happy though, because it meant the gargoyle could protect the tree more than just figuratively. inkash taught it how to speak and how to fight, telling it that it was created to protect and honour the tree it stood under. inkash told it that it was allowed to wander, but must stay within sight of the tree, in case something were to attempt to damage it. eden agreed to all of these terms, it was just happy it was given a task to do, as it had the innate knowledge that as a construct it is supposed to have one.eden now spends its time maintaining the trees health, often singing to itself wordless songs it created, or watching the creatures of the orchard roam around. inkash visits now and then, to pay respects to his grandmother and to check to make sure eden and the tree are alright, often bringing gifts such as toys or other things for eden to play with if it gets bored.

tii's (she/her) backstory:
tii is inkash's good friend and trading partner

the first day that tii woke up, she was in a workshop with two older men talking next to her. when the two men looked up to see her looking around, the older of the two introduced himself as her owner. saying how he was getting too old to do may things around the house and since his husband had died, he figured the best course of action was to commission a construct as a service companion rather than move to a care home. tii nodded, and she went home with him. for many years tii helped the man with chores, learning how to take care of herself as well as him, learning many things. they were best friends, tii growing more and more as a person as the two interacted.one day, the man fell ill. tii took over completely with the rest of the chores, hoping to keep everything in order for the day that he started to get better. she learned to cook for him, learned how to shop for good groceries, learned how to pay his bills and send out mail, and more. he continued getting sicker and sicker, soon being completely bedridden. by this time, the two had learned of the virus raging through the populations, and they both knew he wasn't likely to make it. knowing this, tii tried even harder to keep the house and the man in the best condition she could, refusing to believe that her owner could be taken away from her so much sooner than was expected. despite it all, one morning she went to bring him his favourite breakfast that she had perfected making for him and he wouldnt wake up, no matter how she tried.with him gone, she left the house never to return, taking only a small locket with a photo of him and his husband on one side, and her and him on the other. when she left for the last time, there was barely anybody left. she wandered for what felt like ages, before she came across a small settlement of people that claimed to have been immune, like she is. the majority of them were other constructs. all of them were left without a purpose and banded together to create a town- making their new purpose making somewhere safe other survivors can stay. she moved in easily, taking up running a mix bar and trading post for the residents.eventually, the talk of the town became this tall creature that lived in the apple orchard a couple miles away. apparently, all that was known about him was that he was the one maintaining the orchard, that he did a round along the perimeter on most days, and that he did not mind people taking any apples- in fact, he encouraged it. tii was a curious bug, and on one of her days off of running the bar she went to the treeline where he was seen most often. when he came around as usual, she approached him and introduced herself, where they ended up talking for a few hours.
